Humber 20/55 Limousine 1927

The car will be joining the fleet later in 2007 and will be the flagship of the fleet. It has an amazing history and has been undergoing a full restoration for 20 years!
The 20/55 was an attempt by Humber to move upmarket in the late 20s. They had been producers of quality saloon cars since 1904 and their regular buyers were usually doctors or middle class professionals. However they wanted to get into the upper class of motor manufacturers and started producing a 6 cylinder range of engines to try and compete in the larger car sector. This model was the forerunner of the Humber Snipe which was first produced by the company in the 1930’s when they became part of the Rootes group.
The larger engine meant they could use bigger bodies and a range of saloon, convertibles and long wheel base limousines became available. This actual car is one of only 3 such cars known to still exist in the world. It’s finished in Black over Royal Blue paintwork with a full beige Bedford Cord rear interior.
The large bench seat allows the occupants an excellent position to see and be seen! There are two folding seats that fit into the central partition and sliding glass panels that keep the passengers insulated from the driver’s compartment.
Country Lanes offer a unique experience with this car to travel in true Vintage style. This is no pseudo kit car but the real thing! Book now to avoid disappointment!
