Wedding Terms and Conditions
(These Terms and Conditions do not affect your statutory rights)
Our Agreement
These Terms and Conditions form part of the Agreement attached.
When we refer to “We”, “Us” and “Our” in these Terms and Conditions we mean Country Lanes.
When we refer to “You” and “Your” in these Terms and Conditions we mean the customer whose details are on the attached Agreement.
We shall both be bound by the terms of the Agreement when You have signed the attached Agreement and provided Us with a deposit payment of £100 which is non-refundable unless We are unable to provide a wedding car on the date of Your wedding.
We will not agree any changes to these Terms and Conditions.
Payment
You must pay Us the full balance of the hire charge (less the deposit) as shown on the attached Agreement no later than 70 days before the date of Your wedding.
If the date of Your wedding is less than 70 days from the date of this Agreement then the whole hire charge is due and payable to Us on the date of this Agreement.
If We agree any change to the Agreement before the date of Your wedding and this increases the hire charge then the increase in the hire charge is due and payable to Us 10 days before the date of Your wedding.
If You do not pay Us any hire charge when it is due and payable then We shall not be obligated to You to provide a wedding car on the date of Your wedding but You will still be liable to pay Us the full amount of the hire charge within 7 days of the date of Our invoice.
Cancellation
If You cancel this Agreement before or on the date of Your wedding then You will still be liable to pay the following percentage of the hire charge:
Cancellation within 70 days of the date of Your wedding (including on the day of Your wedding) – 100%
Cancellation between 71 days and 90 days before the date of Your wedding – 50%
Cancellation more than 90 days before the date of Your wedding –£100 cancellation fee only.
If We cancel this Agreement (except in the case Where You have not paid the hire charge when it is due and payable) then We shall refund all of the hire charge that You have paid within 7 days of the date of cancellation and then We shall have no further liability to You.
Period of Hire
We will provide the wedding car for Your use between the hours of 8:30 am and 6:00 pm on the date of Your wedding unless We have both agreed before the date of Your wedding any alternative hours which must have been agreed in writing between us. There will be additional hire charge for this.
Arrival Time
We will do our best to arrive at the first collection point at the beginning of the period of hire in good time but We cannot guarantee this if there are circumstances beyond our control for example traffic problems, adverse weather conditions, mechanical breakdown, illness of the driver.
If We are going to be late We will tell You this by telephone as soon as possible and give You an estimated revised arrival time.
Our late arrival does not permit You to cancel this Agreement.
End of Hire Period
We will leave Your wedding at the end of the hire period but if this is not practically possible then We will continue to provide You with the wedding car but You will be charged extra for this time at the rate of £25 per hour (or part of an hour).
Total Mileage
If during the period of hire more than the total mileage (as set out in the attached Agreement) is travelled then You will pay Us for the additional mileage at a rate of £1.50 per mile within 7 days of the date of our invoice to You in this respect.
Passengers
We will only carry the permitted maximum number of passengers in the wedding car. Under no circumstances will any additional passengers be permitted to travel in the wedding car.
We can carry a small amount of luggage in the wedding car but we must be advised in advance by You of what this will be so that We can confirm with You whether We can carry this amount. If You do not notify Us then We cannot guarantee that the luggage will be able to be transported and We will not be liable to You for being unable to carry the luggage and You will have to make alternative arrangement for the luggage at Your own cost.
Under no circumstances we Will be liable for any loss of or damage to Your luggage.
Passenger Safety
Our classic wedding cars are not fitted with rear seat belts. If You hire a classic wedding car then You accept the risk to You, Your guests and other people in Your wedding party who travel in the classic wedding car that arises from there being no rear seat belts.
Passengers under the age of 16 years will only be permitted to be carried in any wedding car with the written consent of their parents (which must be provided to Us before the date of Your wedding) and that they will be supervised by a responsible adult at all times.
Your Driver
The only person who is permitted to drive the wedding car is Our employee.
Your driver will travel at a reasonable speed taking into account speed limits, weather conditions and the age and type of the wedding car and You must not ask Your driver to travel at any other speed no matter what Your time limits may be. Your driver will also decide the best routes and You must not offer him alternatives no matter how helpful You believe this would be.
We do not include gratuities in Our hire charge but if You wish to thank Your driver then You may tip him at Your discretion.
Alternative Wedding Car
If, for a reason beyond our control, we are unable to provide the wedding car of Your choice then We will provide You with an alternative car of a similar specification and if We are aware before the date of Your wedding that this is likely to be the case then We will notify You of this change before the date of Your wedding.
Refuse to Carry
We reserve the right to refuse to carry You, any of Your guests or any other person in Your wedding party if We consider that You or they are either acting or may act in an illegal, immoral or improper way or that You or they would be likely to cause damage to the wedding car.
You must not offer Your driver inducements to carry You, Your guests or any other person in Your wedding party if he has refused to carry You, Your guests or any other person.
Damage Caused by You, Your Guests, etc.
If You, Your guests or any other person in Your wedding party causes any damage to the wedding car then You will be liable for the full cost of repairs or cleaning and You will pay Us such costs within 7 days of the date of Our invoice to You in this respect.
Altering the Appearance of Your Wedding Car
You, Your guests or any other person must not fix or attach anything either of a temporary or permanent nature to the wedding car either inside or outside. If this does occur then We will charge You an additional charge for the cost of removal of such items and the full costs of all repairs and cleaning charges incurred by Us which shall be paid by You within 7 days of the date of Our invoice to You in this respect.
Damage to Clothing
We shall not be responsible to You, Your guests or any other person in Your wedding party who travels in the wedding car if there is any damage to clothing from oil or grease on the door catches or hinges or dirt on the exterior of the wedding car.
Complaints
If you have any complaints about the wedding car or the service that We have provided to You then You must make Your complaint to Us in writing within 7 days after the date of Your wedding otherwise We shall not be liable to You if You later make a claim against Us.
